Synopsis

Following the events of Bloodless, the "exciting" and "nail-biting" new thriller in Preston & Child's #1 bestselling series will once again feature FBI Special Agent A. X. L. Pendergast and Constance Greene.

Against all odds, Constance has found a way back to the place of her origins, New York City in the late 1800s, and sets off on a quest to prevent the events that lead to the deaths of her sister and brother, and stop Manhattan’s most infamous serial killer, Dr. Enoch Leng of the seminal Pendergast novel The Cabinet of Curiosities, before his nefarious experiments come to fruition.

Meanwhile, in present-day New York, Pendergast is desperate to find a way to reunite with Constance—but will he find a way before it’s too late?

I am so pleased that this Agent Pendergast novel was more in keeping with Cabinet of Curiosities and Relic and less like the previous two in the series, which fell a bit flat for me. There's a ton going on in this one, but it never gets confusing. Love the time travel element and the authors did a g......more

Dark, creepy, mysterious - everything you expect from Preston & Child. I really think you need to have read most, if not all, of the previous Pendergast series entries to truly appreciate this book. I will, as always, be back for the next book!......more

READ THIS BOOK. There. That's a simple enough review, brief and to the point and if you're a Pendergast fan, it's enough. Hell, if you really ARE a Pendergast fan, chances are, like me, you've kept your eyes and ears open since you put down 'Bloodless' and as soon as prerelease copies of 'The Cabinet......more
