Synopsis

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day comes the first novel in the Crossfire series—a provocative masterstroke of abandon and obsession that redefined the meaning of desire, and became a global phenomenon.Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness...He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds...and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart...

About Sylvia Day

Japanese American writer, Sylvia June Day was born on March 11, 1973. Day writes romance novels, speculative/paranormal fiction, historical fiction, and futuristic fiction (under the pseudonym Livia Dare.) S. J. Day is the pseudonym for her non-romance genre works.

Day is a #1 bestseller in 28 countries. She is the co-founder of “Passionate Ink”, a special interest chapter of Romance Writers of America, and served on the Board of Directors from 2009-2013 as well as became the 22nd President of the RWA. For the last three years, Day’s novels have taken spots among the top bestselling books on global year-end sales round ups, making her one the most widely read authors in the world today.

In addition to her novels, Day has written numerous novellas and short stories for both print and digital-first release. Her work has been called an “exhilarating adventure”, by Publishers Weekly and “wickedly entertaining”, by Booklist. She’s been honored with the RT Book Reviews Reviewer’s Choice award, the National Reader’s Choice Award, and multiple nominations for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA Award of Excellence.

Born in Los Angeles, she grew up in Orange County and later lived in Monterey and Oceanside. Day now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, but occasionally enjoys her pied-a`-terre on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York. She considers the two vibrant, energetic, and never-dark cities perfect for a writer whose working hours are as unpredictable as her characters.

Half way through and it reminds so much of the 50 Shades relationship meets 9 1/2 weeks sex play.

It was a merrygoround/roller coaster rides of sex, sex, more sex with the juvenile arguments who should commit more to a relationship that they had agreed NOT to share...not my kind of story :

4.5!! WAAAAY better than that Fifty Shades of Grey. I do get the comparison, but truly this is a MUCH better read. Simply put, this book had the polish that FSoG grossly lacked. (I read FSoG just before I read this one. Sadly, I found it disturbing and only gave it a 1-star review.) The major similar......more

I decided to read Bared To You because it was sold as a well-written version of Fifty Shades of Grey. To give credit where credit is due, Sylvia Day is not E.L. James. Her grammar is good, she varies her sentence structures and, although her propensity for purple prose is at times off-putting, she's......more
